Brazilian footwear brand Melissa – part of the Grendene Footwear Group – has agreed a partnership with Paris-based German fashion designer, artist and photographer Karl Lagerfeld to produce four exclusive women’s footwear styles for a March 2013 launch.
“In one of the most exciting collaborations the company has seen, Karl Lagerfeld, the most iconic designer of the 21st century, has extended his fashion reign into the Melissa world,” said Melissa Chief Executive, Paulo Pedó. “Karl’s design talent is synonymous with couture and has been translated into footwear, bridging the gap between high-end and commercial. The partnership extends our customer base and makes his name accessible for everyone.”
