More shoe suppliers visit Le Cuir a Paris
Delegates from around the world investigated future trends in leather.
The number of visitors to the latest edition of Le Cuir a Paris leather show increased by 6.5 per cent over the February 2012 event, with a growing delegate list representing the shoe suppliers sector. Of the 13,044 attendees wanting to see the newest leathers and discover future colour and texture trends, 43 per cent were from France, with the remainder mainly arriving from the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands. There was also a 12 per cent increase in Russian visitors. This overall growth in visitors was viewed by the organisers as extremely positive, particularly as the date of the show clashed with the Chinese New Year. Although the number of delegates from China was down by 35 per cent, there was a 17 per cent increase in attendees from Hong Kong.
A total of 339 exhibitors took part in the fair (22 per cent more than in the corresponding edition last year), with an increased number of companies showcasing components and textiles. Fifty-seven per cent of exhibiting companies were from Italy, with 17 per cent from France and 11 per cent from Spain.
For the next edition, scheduled for September, Le Cuir a Paris will be relocating into Hall 4 of Paris Nord Villepinte – a direct swap with accessories show Modamont.
