New Europe head for Columbia Sportswear
New EMEA Interim Manager Doug Morse has worked for Columbia for the past 18 years.
Columbia Sportswear has announced the appointment of Doug Morse as Geneva-based interim general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr Morse has served as general manager of Columbia’s Canadian operations since 2008 and has worked for the company for the past 18 years, having also held various leadership roles in the USA. In his new role, Mr Morse will lead the company’s activities in the region on an interim basis, while he is assisting in the search for a permanent appointee.
Mr Morse is replacing Christian Finell, who has resigned from Columbia in order to pursue other professional opportunities. Mr Finell had carried out this regional role for the company since December 2007.
“Doug is a valued Columbia veteran who brings a deep understanding of the strategies we are pursuing across our multi-brand platform,” said Columbia Chief Executive, Tim Boyle. “He will be instrumental in maintaining continuity with our customers and consumers as we navigate the leadership transition in the EMEA region.”
