theMICAMshanghai declared ‘a success’
At a recent meeting of ANCI (the Italian footwear association) which was held in Bologna, the organisations’ shareholders resolved to take a new name – Assocalzaturifici Italiani – in addition to adopting newly written articles of association.
The association also recently reported that its new show, theMICAMshanghai, exceeded all expectations. It is the first international footwear and leathergoods fair Assocalzaturifici Italiani has organised in China, and just under 6,000 visitors attended.
This positive view of the new show was confirmed by Cleto Sagripanti, chairman of theMICAM, who said: “We are satisfied with the results of this first edition of theMICAMshanghai, and the high number of contacts established between exhibitors, investors and the specialised press with the participating firms. Our strict entrance policy has ensured that only qualified buyers were able to access the exhibition, including a conspicuous number of local and international retailers interested in high quality products.”
Beginning in January 2013, theMICAMshanghai was marketed to the footwear industry media and professional buyers through an extensive media campaign and roadshows in several Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Hong Kong.
