Sustainability award for A&E

Stitching thread manufacturer American & Efird has received recognition for ‘outstanding participation’ in the Nike Materials Sustainability Index for its dye house in Dongmei, China – A&E’s second consecutive award in this quarterly competition. The North Carolina-based company has invested over $2 million in its ‘state-of-the-art’ treatment plant, which is reported to have a highly sophisticated treatment system, surpassing required regulatory limits and recycling over 50 per cent of the treated wastewater.
