Wolverine joins NASA spacesuit project
Wolverine will be helping to develop the next generation of NASA spacesuits.

Michigan-based footwear and apparel producer Wolverine has been selected to work on the next generation of NASA’s spacesuits, called the Z-2. ILC Dover, the company awarded the 18-month contract to design and manufacture the suits will work alongside Wolverine, the University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials and Philadelphia University, where the suits will be tested.
The new suit is being designed for an enhanced spacewalk capability. The intention is for it to operate at higher pressure levels than previous models, which, according to NASA, will greatly improve the efficiency of space exploration work.
