Confecat aims to develop test facilities
Confecat installed injection moulding equipment in the 1990s.
Argentine footwear manufacturer Confecat SA has become a member of SATRA. Through membership, director, Jose Muia, aims to develop the company’s internal testing facilities in anticipation of SATRA laboratory accreditation.
“SATRA has an international reputation and track record in the development and quality control in the manufacture of footwear,” said Mr Muia. “As a member of SATRA, we will be at the forefront of the constant changes and international requirements that affect our products. We are confident that this will make our products some of the most sophisticated technical resources marketed. SATRA will strengthen our relationship with our current and potential customers with our products.”
Originally founded in 1973 as a safety apparel producer, Confecat SA began producing its ‘PISFER’ brand of footwear 12 years later. Investment in injection moulding in the late 1990s led to the company’s success in securing several private label contracts in the children’s and safety footwear markets. Confecat has four facilities in northern Argentina, and can produce 65,000 pairs of footwear per month.
