Geox buys rights to Diadora in China
In 2009, the founder of the Geox footwear group, Mario Moretti Polegato, acquired the Diadora sports brand through a holding company called LIR. Now, Geox has bought the rights to trade under the Diadora sports brand in China, Hong Kong and Macao, from Hong Kong-based Win Hanverky in a deal reportedly worth more than $9 million. LIR is said to have expressed an interest in expanding the brand internationally, and particularly in China.
