Church's Shoes plans major expansion of footwear factory
UK-based Church’s Shoes, which produces a collection of high-end men’s and women’s footwear, is reportedly negotiating to buy a vacant bus depot in Northampton to expand its premises.
According to Group Chief Executive, Stephen Etheridge, the company is proud to be part of Northampton’s heritage and, with its current site at maximum capacity with no room to develop, a number of different options have been explored.
The enlargement of the company’s factory would enable Church’s Shoes to invest in new operations and facilities, with the aim of creating some 150 new jobs within five years. The building is said to have some distinctive elements, and the company has stated that every effort will be made to retain these and the general character of the site.
