Deckers has new president for Teva brand
Former Reebok and Umbro executive Jeffrey Bua has been appointed by Deckers Outdoor Corporation as president for Teva. His responsibilities will include helping to develop the Teva brand away from its original legacy as a producer of sandals to having a greater focus on outdoor footwear. Mr Bua replaces Joel Heath as company president, and he will report directly to Deckers’ Chief Executive, President and Chairman of the Board, Angel Martinez.
Before he joined Deckers in 2011 as Mozo brand president, Mr Bua worked for such footwear companies as Hi-Tec Sports, Reebok, RG Barry Corporation and Umbro. During the nine years he served at Reebok, he reportedly helped to achieve number one market positions in tennis, basketball and fitness.
“Jeff has demonstrated the ability to take brands to the next level during his 30 plus year career in the footwear industry,” said Mr Martinez. “Over the past several years, we’ve made good progress re-positioning the Teva brand to attract a younger, more active consumer.”
