There is also a series of seminars on how to succeed in western markets, which investigates the following subjects:

The SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT) training programme is for personnel who require in-depth training on specific aspects of shoemaking, and also for those who design, develop, manufacture and distribute footwear.
A ‘footwear troubleshooting’ event for SATRA members is being organised for March and August 2014. The programme will cover chemical problems (such as discolouration, mould growth, odours and adhesion failures) in addition to footwear ageing protocols, rubber formulations, REACH legislation and restricted substances lists. Laboratory tours and demonstrations are also planned, as is the opportunity for individual consultations with SATRA experts.
