Management changes at adidas
Gil Steyaert now has responsibility for adidas business in Western Europe.
The adidas Group has announced changes to the structure of its management team in Western Europe and North America. These adjustments are reportedly part of the company’s ‘Route 2015’ strategic business plan, which it says are key initiatives to help the adidas Group maximise the potential of its brands in its two largest regions.
Gil Steyaert, presently managing director north for the adidas Group, has been appointed as managing director Western Europe to oversee business in central, northern and southern France, and Iberia. He will report to board member for global sales, Roland Auschel, and will be based in Herzogenaurach. Mr Steyaert joined the adidas Group in 1999 as joint managing director for France. In January 2003, he became responsible for Benelux, Ireland, Scandinavia and the UK.
Patrik Nilsson, currently president of adidas North America, has moved up to the position of president, adidas Group North America, and will also assume global responsibility for Reebok-CCM Hockey. He took up his existing role in January 2007, and began his career with the adidas brand in 1991 as head of sales and marketing at adidas Sweden.
