Second Shanghai show ‘consolidates Italian presence’
Assocalzaturifici president Cleto Sagripanti sees China as a market for growth.
Following the inaugural edition of MICAM Shanghai in April, Italian footwear association Assocalzaturifici viewed the second exhibition in October as serving to consolidate the fair as a major event on the Chinese mainland.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of the second edition,” said Cleto Sagripanti, president of Assocalzaturifici. “We have decided to focus on China as a market for growth. This is a challenge that requires great patience and entrepreneurial dynamism. MICAM Shanghai was created to facilitate businesses that could hardly venture out on their own in such a big and different market, something that it will continue to do in the future. This edition has confirmed the importance of the fair as the B2B event of reference for international footwear [companies] in Italy.”
The MICAM show will return to the Shanghai Exhibition Centre in March 2014, when the autumn/winter 2014/15 collections will be on show.
