adidas makes long-term plan for next ceo
Herbert Hainer will remain as chief executive until after the 2016 Olympic Games.
German sportswear giant adidas has announced that Herbert Hainer will continue to serve as chief executive until 2017, thus allowing additional time to select his eventual successor. Mr Hainer has led the company since 2001 but, although his current contract is due to expire next year, he has now been asked to remain in his post for another two years.
According to adidas, the decision has been taken to introduce its next chief executive during the quieter period between the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia during 2018.
