SATRA expert to speak at footwear congress
SATRA’s Tom Bayes will explain the value of multi-climate assessment.
SATRA’s head of research Tom Bayes has been invited to speak at the World Footwear Congress (WFC) to be held during November in the Mexican city of Leon. This event is designed to provide a forum for debate on challenges faced and opportunities available to the footwear sector. Its organisers also aim to strengthen relationships with other stakeholders around the world, facilitate business for footwear companies and contribute to the industry’s growth.
The 2014 WFC has been entitled ‘Keeping one step ahead: meeting the challenges of the footwear sector’. Over two days, the delegates will be able to listen and debate how to keep ahead of what the consumer wants, what the industry needs, how globalisation influences the access to markets, the maintenance of growth and the industry’s increased competitiveness.
In his letter of invitation, Jean-Pierre Renaudin, president of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry, described SATRA as ‘a leading technical authority for footwear’. He added his wish to have SATRA’s knowledge and experience in the framework of the 2014 World Footwear Congress, as it would ‘enrich the debate and contribute to the success of the event’. SATRA was pleased to arrange for Mr Bayes to speak on the important subject of ‘multi-climate assessment of whole shoes and materials’.
