Columbia Sportswear adds to global team
Sportswear retailer Columbia Sportswear Company has created two new senior roles – Steve Woodside is now vice president of global manufacturing, and Stuart Redsun has been appointed as the US-based company’s new chief marketing officer.
Mr Woodside brings considerable experience to his new role, having worked in footwear and apparel manufacturing for the past 25 years, more than half of which was spent in Asia. He most recently served in Hong Kong as VF Corporation’s vice president of its global footwear division, responsible for global footwear sourcing and manufacturing. Before that, Mr Woodside spent 23 years at Nike, and led both apparel and footwear manufacturing operations. He was also instrumental in promoting the adoption of advanced lean manufacturing processes by Columbia Sportswear’s contract manufacturers.
Stuart Redsun will oversee the development and execution of global consumer marketing programmes for the Columbia, Montrail and Sorel brands. He has held numerous marketing leadership roles within the athletic footwear and apparel industry, including at Nike (where he began his marketing career) and, most recently, as senior vice president of global brand marketing for Under Armour. Mr Redsun has also led marketing communications teams for such technology brands as Gateway, Motorola and Sony.
