A delegation from companies in the Chinese footwear sector recently visited India to look for opportunities to invest and develop trade. These representatives – from the footwear-producing region of Guangdong province – visited leather factories and wholesale markets in the cities of Agra and New Delhi.
During their stay in Agra, members of the Chinese team attended the 33rd annual International Footwear Conference, which was being held there. As part of the conference programme, the delegation from China made a presentation entitled ‘Vision 2019’, which explored their country’s plans for footwear production, product design and marketing.
In addition to the Chinese representation, members of the Confederation of International Footwear Associations (CIFA) presented their respective country’s ‘Vision 2019’ documents, which included a comprehensive report on the status of their own national footwear industry. The CIFA represents a number of Asian footwear producing countries and was established to encourage networking and the exchange of trade information.
