Clarks pioneers new 'measuring experience'
Clarks hopes its new iPad device will be both practical and fun.
The Clarks foot-measuring service has received an innovative makeover with the launch of the company’s new ‘iPad Foot Gauge’. This device, along with its bespoke app, have been designed specifically for the UK-based company that celebrates its 190th anniversary this year. The Foot Gauge will be used to measure children’s feet in-store and aims, according to Clarks, to give both parents and children a fun and interactive consumer experience.
The Clarks iPad Foot Gauge is being rolled out across the UK, and uses a footplate to measure foot length and a digi-tape to ascertain foot width. This information is relayed to the iPad app, which then presents a shoe size guide that store staff can use in selecting the correct shoes. The device also features animated Clarks characters – ‘Jack Nano’ and ‘Daisy’ – who have been designed to entertain children while guiding them through each step of the measuring process. All Clarks children’s and first shoes are said to be available in whole and half sizes, and a number of width fittings.
