Vibram makes acquisition and appointment
Paolo Manuzzi joined Vibram in 1993, and most recently held the position of sales director.
Italian outsole specialist Vibram has acquired Quabaug Corp – the company that has been its US manufacturing and distribution partner since 1965. Vibram USA and Quabaug will now trade as Quabuag Vibram Innovation (QVI).
According to Vibram, this merger will allow QVI to focus its resources on the development and commercialisation of North American products. The company also plans to invest in QVI with new and advanced manufacturing technologies and equipment.
During their 50-year partnership, Quabuag and Vibram have collaborated to design and manufacture rubber compounds such as Megagrip, Idrogrip and XS Grip and their products serve the outdoor, athletic and industrial sectors.
In addition to news of the merger, Vibram has announced the appointment of long-time employee Paolo Manuzzi to the newly created role of general manager. Mr Manuzzi joined Vibram in 1993, and was responsible for the Italian and Spanish markets before he became the company’s sales director four years ago. Vibram says that this new position confirms its desire to develop new strategies to strengthen brand reputation.
