US-based thread manufacturer American & Efird (A&E) has reached a company-set target of zero waste which is sent to landfill at each of its manufacturing facilities in the USA, as well as at two corporate office buildings.
“We are very proud of our US manufacturing operations,” said company chief executive, Fred Jackson. “This achievement is the result of the hard work, commitment and dedication of our company leadership and our employees. We are committed to the principle that practising sustainability and corporate social responsibility is the right thing to do.”
Additional A&E initiatives that have been introduced as part of a wide environmental strategy include an effort to conserve water across the company’s international network of production plants, currently in 23 countries.
