Charity presents footwear awards
Industry charity Footwear Friends has been providing assistance since 1836 to workers in the UK shoe industry who face financial difficulties. Now in its ninth year, the Footwear Friends Awards Evening was recently held in St Mary at Hill Church in central London as a celebration of the best of British entrepreneurial shoemaking talent. This year's main award – The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers Award for Innovation was won by Swift & Co, and the Micro-Pak Ltd Award was presented to sandal producer Slinks.
