SAFT training and accreditation heads for Dubai

Each SAFT module will be led by a SATRA expert.

For the first time, SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT) training is to be held in Dubai, between 25th July and 9th August 2016. This internationally recognised qualification gives clear evidence that the successful student is a footwear technologist with a proven range of knowledge. He or she will receive the most comprehensive and up-to-date information in six key areas of footwear manufacture – i) lasts, fitting and comfort, ii) materials and constructions, iii) laboratory testing procedures, iv) product design, performance and risk assessment, v) quality assurance and supplier auditing, and vi) industrial footwear. Each module will be led by a SATRA specialist with comprehensive documentation included.

Once the course is complete, students have an opportunity totake optional written examinations. A pass in five of the sixmodules must be achieved for SAFT accreditation. It is not necessary to takeall five examinations at one time, but students must obtain the five passeswithin two years to obtain accreditation.
