Deckers reports growth in sales
Ugg sales rose by 13.3 per cent.
The Decker Brands footwear group has posted an 11.2 per cent increase in net sales in the first quarter of 2016, to £257.8 million ($378.6 million) compared to £231.9 million ($340.6 million) in the same period last year. The company’s Ugg brand led the way, reporting net sales increase by 13.3 per cent to £167.2 million ($245.6 million). There was also an increase of sales of the company’s Teva brand, which saw growth of 11.3 per cent to £40.2 million ($59.1 million).
The company also announced that Dave Powers has succeeded Angel Martinez as brand chief executive. Mr Powers joined Deckers in June 2012, having previously held senior executive roles with Gap, Nike and Timberland. Mr Martinez will remain as chairman of the board of directors.
