ZHSATRA stand popular at key Vietnamese expo
Reporting on a successful trip to Ho Chi Minh City.
SATRA, in conjunction with Khoi Toan (SATRA's authorised Vietnamese equipment supplier), enjoyed a positive reaction to its presence at the recent Shoes & Leather Exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City. Information on a wide range of SATRA test machines was presented, with members of staff giving demonstrations on an STM 505 Dynamic Water Resistance Tester. Video presentations highlighted the importance of testing, in addition to the use of such equipment as the STM 528 Pedatron and the STM 567 Endofoot.
This was the fourth successive year SATRA had exhibited at the Vietnam event. Peter Allen, Steve Rose, Georgia Money and Vivien Hsieh represented SATRA at the show, along with Khoi Toan’s Carol Pham and Allen Duong. During the three days of the fair, a steady flow of visitors from a number of countries enquired about SATRA services. Test equipment, the setting up of test laboratories, production efficiency systems and SATRA membership – together with research and testing – were of particular interest to the visitors, who included international brand owners, footwear manufacturers, sourcing companies, tanneries and chemical/component suppliers.
SATRA’s Steve Rose gave four well-attended seminar presentations
On the second day of the expo, Steve Rose gave four well-attended seminar presentations – on the topics of 'testing leather for footwear', 'laboratory development', 'advanced whole shoe testing' and 'testing leathergoods'. Each of these sessions was translated into Vietnamese.
Two days before the exhibition opened its doors, members of the SATRA team visited the TBS Group factory in Binh Duong Province near Ho Chi Minh City. This occasion saw the presentation of a certificate to mark the company's research and development laboratory achieving SATRA accreditation. In addition, individual technicians received their accreditation certificates. TBS general director Nguyen Thanh Son spoke at the ceremony, as did Peter Allen and two directors from the Skechers Vietnam footwear company – Yohan Yo and Hiep Nguyen.
