Steptronic wins major industry award
UK-based Steptronic was named men's mainstream brand of the year at the recent Drapers Footwear Industry Awards, held at the distinguished Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane. Steptronic joined the 2016 Drapers 'hall of fame' alongside some of the best-known brands in footwear, including adidas, Jimmy Choo, River Island and Ted Baker.
Located in the Northamptonshire town of Rushden, Steptronic was founded in 2009 by managing director David Corben, and the company has reached finalist status in the Drapers awards every year since 2013. According to Mr Corben, since the brand was launched in 2009 it has been on his agenda to win a Drapers award. "There really is no other accolade close to it in our industry, and I’m so proud of what we have achieved," he added.
In addition to Steptronic winning the Drapers title, Mr Corben has been notified that his company is a finalist in the Northamptonshire Small and Medium Enterprise Awards for the Business of the Year. The winners of this title will be announced at an awards evening in October.
