US footwear producer Converse is reportedly to establish a new Indonesian factory in the central Javan city of Salatiga. The facility – which is planned to be in operation by the end of the year – will be run by PT Selalu Cinta Indonesia (SCI), a subsidiary of Karet Murni Kencana (KMK). Between 3,000 and 5,000 jobs are expected to be created within the local area.
