SATRA organises footwear open day
The SATRA open day will include presentations on a number of key testing topics.
SATRA will be holding a footwear open day providing an introduction to testing on Wednesday 14th December 2016 in Kettering, UK. This event is for SATRA members and non-members, and is particularly for manufacturers, sourcing companies and retailers of all types of footwear and materials. It is ideal for newly appointed members of staff, as well as more experienced technologists and buyers.
The event will provide delegates with information about the importance of footwear testing, the legislation behind the reasons for testing and the key properties assessed. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet SATRA’s footwear experts and familiarise themselves with our facilities and procedures.
The day begins with an overview on the importance of testing, followed by a tour and presentations on a variety of topics, including slip resistance, whole shoe testing, heel attachment, adhesive bonds, colour and light fastness, and water resistance, in addition to chemical analysis and fitting. After the event concludes, delegates are invited to stay to discuss any particular issues they may have in private with one of our experts. A buffet lunch is included.
