Vibram 'committed to US production'
Footwear brand owner Vibram has announced that it will continue to manufacture its products in the USA, and recently celebrated its long-standing operation in the country. Local residents were invited to tour the company’s Quabaug Vibram Innovation facility in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, and joined current and retired employees to hear speeches from the company’s president Mike Gionfrido and other notable attendees.
Vibram's acquisition of the Quabaug Corporation in 2015 is said to form a part of Vibram USA's commitment to a five-year campaign, which will see investment in both staff and machinery.
The company reportedly plans to establish a two-year education programme for its work force, in addition to expanding its domestic supply chain and strengthening its product development and innovation processes in order to improve the Vibram presence in markets around the world. Vibram states that $6 million was invested in state-of-the-art machinery during 2016 – a strategy designed to allow for the faster production of materials and a reduction in response times to satisfy consumer demand.
