Nike and Patagonia gain circular economy accolades
The World Economic Forum held its annual ‘Circulars Awards’ ceremony prior to its recent meeting in Davos Klosters, Switzerland. This recognition marks notable contributions to the circular economy, defined as 'the promotion of greater resource productivity to reduce waste and avoid pollution'.
Sportswear manufacturer Nike and outdoor brand Patagonia shared this year’s Circular Award given to a multinational company. Nike received the commendation for material efficiency and waste reduction, while Patagonia was recognised for sustainable innovation in the apparel industry.
