SATRA expands manufacturing capability
SATRA is continuing its commitment to investing in technology facilities in the UK with a new site in Northamptonshire. Due to be complete in 2018, the new facility will be an addition to the purpose-built research and technology centre in Kettering, which has been serving major international brand owners and other customers from around the world since 2004.
The latest £2.5m investment will provide space for the expansion of SATRA’s test equipment manufacture business, which exports machines for the testing of footwear, furniture and other products within global supply chains. SATRA employs over 200 technical and other staff in Europe and China, the majority of its technology experts being located in Kettering, UK.
SATRA was founded in 1919 as an independent research and testing organisation to investigate and assess innovations within the footwear and leather industries. Today, it is recognised as a leading authority in these fields, providing testing, accreditation, consultancy, research, training, production systems and a range of test equipment.
