CAB hears of SATRA developments
Reporting on the recent SATRA China Advisory Board meeting.
The 25th meeting of the SATRA China Advisory Board (CAB) was recently held at the offices of STC in Dalang, near Dongguan. The event was hosted by STC chief executive Richard Fung and attended by 12 CAB members or their deputies. Prior to the meeting, Mr Fung gave presentations on the work of STC and led a tour of the company's laboratories, where a number of consumer product tests were demonstrated.
At the start of the formal proceedings, SATRA China general manager Liam Donnelly outlined the latest developments at SATRA, and drew attention to the increase in both testing capability and the number of customers served. He also described how SATRA laboratory accreditation has grown during 2017, and showed that the annual number of factory production efficiency systems installed in China has been rising. Mr Donnelly also mentioned that several new staff members have been recruited as a result of the increases in demand for SATRA's services in the region.
SATRA chief executive and CAB chairman Austin Simmons updated the delegates on developments within the SATRA group, including the planned opening of an additional research and technology centre in Kettering, UK (click here for further information) and a new service for the digital assessment of lasts. He also gave an overview of the newly published SATRA Global Foot Dimensions report and considered forthcoming technical events to be held in Dongguan. The meeting finished with a networking lunch provided by STC at a local restaurant.
