New president announced for adidas North America
Zion Armstrong has been appointed as the new president for adidas North America. Originally from New Zealand, he will replace Mark King, who is stepping down from the post after a long and successful career at the company to become an advisor for the region.
Mr Armstrong has been general manager for adidas North America since June 2015. He first joined the sportswear company in 1998 as product manager for footwear in New Zealand, before moving to the Germany corporate headquarters four years later. Between 2005 and 2014, Mr Armstrong held a number of leadership roles in the Asia-Pacific region, including managing director of adidas in South Korea.
According to adidas, Mr Armstrong’s appointment has been ‘a well-prepared, seamless transition’. The company added that it was excited to promote him to one of the most important roles in the company.
