DESMA announces date of next House Fair

Several hundred delegates are expected at the next DESMA House Fair.

More than 700 representatives of footwear manufacturers and suppliers from around the world are expected to attend DESMA Schuhmaschinen’s 2018 House Fair, to be held in the German town of Achim on 19th and 20th September. The event, which is held every two years, features demonstrations of DESMA shoemaking, as well as contributions from around 50 supply industry co-exhibitors.

Automation is a key topic currently being discussed by many people within the footwear industry. According to DESMA’s managing director, Klaus Freese, the company’s customers face the necessity of designing factories and production processes more efficiently in order to reduce costs, while simultaneously raising product quality. In line with such challenges, some of the solutions reportedly to be addressed during the forthcoming House Fair include new software, processing technologies, pioneering automation tools and customised shoes for the mass-production segment.
