Footwear open day to highlight testing procedures

Delegates will learn about the importance of testing footwear, the legislation involved and the key properties assessed.

SATRA will be holding a special event at its Kettering, UK headquarters on Wednesday 12th December 2018, to introduce a variety of key tests used on whole shoes and footwear components. The programme has been designed for manufacturers, sourcing companies and retailers of all types of footwear and materials. It is ideal for newly appointed technologists and buyers, as well as more experienced personnel.

The day is intended to provide delegates with information about the importance of testing footwear, the legislation behind the reasons for testing, and the key properties assessed. There will be an opportunity to meet SATRA’s footwear experts and become familiar with our facilities and methods.

The day, which includes a buffet lunch, covers the importance of testing, a tour of SATRA’s test facilities and talks on a variety of testing topics. At the conclusion of the event, delegates are invited to discuss any particular issues they may have in private with one of our experts.

The topics discussed will include slip resistance, whole shoe tests, heel attachment, adhesive bonds, colour and light fastness, water resistance, trims and fasteners, and tests on industrial footwear.
