SATRA representatives at polymers conference
Members of the SATRA team recently attended the second annual ‘Polymers in Footwear’ conference held in Cologne, Germany. Over 90 delegates, including many of the industry’s most progressive people, represented a broad spectrum of companies up and down the supply chain. These attendees arrived from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the UK, Ukraine and the USA, and included SATRA footwear technologist Mike George and development chemist Rebecca Dunk.
Organised by AMI Consulting and chaired by the company’s head of strategic research John Nash, the event included 16 presentations and a panel discussion on topics including ‘global footwear markets’, ‘opportunities for innovation’, ‘reinventing the sneaker’, ‘environmental sustainability’, and ‘mass customisation’.
A number of companies, including SATRA, exhibited near the conference room, and valuable networking took place during the conference and at an evening reception. The third conference scheduled to be held in Berlin in November 2019.
