SATRA announces dates for shoe fit training courses
Topics covered during the day include foot anatomy and the benefits of fitting.
SATRA is pleased to release information on the 2019 series of its popular shoe fit training courses. These events have been created to enable everyone involved in getting footwear to market to gain a good understanding of the importance of fit, because good fit sells shoes and builds brand loyalty. All personnel involved in product development and footwear retailing should have a sound understanding of the foot and the fitting properties of different types of footwear.
The programme for this course delivers thorough, effective and practical instruction. For example, the basics of foot anatomy and gait are explained, and participants are able to practice how to measure feet and gain experience in the methodology of fit assessment. The course is interactive and delegates are welcome to bring specific examples of their company’s products for discussion.
Topics covered during the day include the needs and benefits of fitting, foot anatomy and function and how to measure foot dimensions. The programme also includes information on international shoe sizing systems, fit assessment, and design and shoemaking factors, in addition to a hands-on practical foot fitting exercise. Participants will gain confidence in knowing how to conduct a thorough fit assessment and how to interpret their findings. A buffet lunch will be included.
SATRA’s shoe fit training course will be held in Kettering, UK, on the following dates during 2019: 23rd January, 27th February, 27th March, 24th April, 29th May, 19th June, 18th September, 30th October and 27th November.
