Under Armour transformation 'on track'
Founder Kevin Plank says Under Armour is working to connect deeply with its customers.
The Under Armour sportswear company has reported revenue totalling $1.4 billion (£1.09 billion) for the third quarter of 2018, which represents an increase of 3 per cent over the same period in 2017. Income from the sales of footwear by the US-based company was steady at $285 million (£221.5 million), and revenue produced from Under Armour apparel increased by 4 per cent.
According to Kevin Plank, who founded the company in 1996, these third-quarter results demonstrate that the plans for what he calls Under Armour’s ‘transformation’ are on track. He added that the company is staying sharply focused on its brand by connecting even more deeply with consumers. Basketball, running and training have been identified as the areas offering the best potential for growth.
