Timberland hires global creative director
Christopher Raeburn will work with Timberland to design accessories, apparel and footwear for the autumn/winter 2020 season.
Outdoor product supplier Timberland has named award-winning British fashion designer Christopher Raeburn as its global creative director. The US-based company first collaborated with Mr Raeburn earlier this year on apparel that was launched during the London Fashion Week. As creative director of Timberland, he will work with the company’s teams engaged in global product development, innovation and marketing to design accessories, apparel and footwear, with his first collection being launch for autumn/winter 2020.
Although Mr Raeburn will be based at his London studio from which he runs his eponymous business, he will regularly fly over to Timberland’s New Hampshire headquarters in addition to visiting the company’s regional bases in Hong Kong and Switzerland. According to Jim Pisani, Timberland’s global brand president, Mr Raeburn is a true visionary who shares the company’s ethos of responsibility and will be introducing fresh and modern designs to the company’s collection. Since 2011, Mr Raeburn has collaborated with a number of well-known brand owners, including Fred Perry, Barbour, Clarks, Disney and Umbro.
