Important addition to REACH Annex XVII
REACH Annex XVII relates to substances that are restricted in consumer products above maximum allowable levels.
A significant amendment to REACH Regulation (EU) No 1907/2006 was published on 10th October. A new entry has been added to Annex XVII – the list of substances that are restricted in consumer products above maximum allowable levels. The new entry concerns substances classified as ‘carcinogenic’ (may cause cancer), ‘mutagenic’ (may be capable of inducing genetic mutation) or those classified as ‘toxic for reproduction’. There will be maximum concentration limits on 33 substances which will come into force from 1st November 2020.
