SATRA organises footwear open day

Information on a variety of testing topics will be presented, including the assessment of footwear trims.

An event to show how footwear is tested will be held at SATRA’s UK offices in Kettering on Thursday 21st March 2019. This open day is for both members and non-members, and has been designed for manufacturers, sourcing companies and retailers of all types of footwear and materials. It is ideal for newly appointed personnel, as well as more experienced technologists and buyers, and will provide delegates with information about the importance of footwear testing. It will also investigate the legislation behind the reasons for testing and the key properties that are assessed.

The event will include a presentation by SATRA experts on why the testing of footwear is of concern to all companies involved in the footwear supply chain. This will be followed by a tour of SATRA’s testing facilities and information on a variety of testing topics, including slip resistance, whole shoe tests, heel attachment, adhesive bonds, colour and light fastness, water resistance and trims and fasteners. Delegates will then be able to discuss any particular issues they may have in private with a SATRA expert. A buffet lunch will be included.

How can we help?
