TV report features SATRA centenary

The TV report, which included interviews and test demonstrations, concluded by showing viewers SATRA’s 1953 Everest boot.

A journalist’s visit to SATRA to mark its centenary year was recently broadcast on the UK’s ITV Anglia evening news programme. Testing being conducted in the footwear, chemistry, furniture and personal protective equipment laboratories was shown, and the item also included interviews with chief executive Austin Simmons and divisional manager Lynne Fenyk. Viewers were introduced to a number of key footwear test machines in action, including the SATRA Pedatron, the Advanced Moisture Management Test machine and the Dynamic Water Resistance tester. In addition, the report highlighted an example of the boot designed and manufactured by SATRA for the 1953 British Everest Expedition.
