PUMA North America Inc has announced its intention to move to new headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts in 2021. This will combine two PUMA offices currently based in Boston and Westford. According to company president and chief executive Bob Philion, the new facility will allow PUMA North America to ‘better collaborate, foster diversity of thought, creativity and innovation – and have fun while doing it’.
The new headquarters is planned to provide some 150,000 square feet (13,935 square metres) of office space over five floors. Around 550 employees are expected to work in the building, which would represent a workforce growth of more than 20 per cent. A 19,000 square foot (1,765 square metre) roof deck is also proposed, to feature a recreational area and basketball court. The facility is to give employees access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre, an on-location children’s room, cycle storage and a large balcony.
PUMA designs, develops, sells and markets footwear, apparel and accessories. The company distributes its products in more than 120 countries, employs more than 13,000 people worldwide, and is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
