REACH substances of very high concern

How the legal obligations for SVHCs are applicable to consumer products and provides information on the key substances that are relevant to footwear and leathergoods.

This article is the first of a series of three that will provide clarity on the REACH regulation ('Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals') that applies in the European Union and European Economic Area. This month's issue will focus on substances of very high concern (SVHCs), with future articles examining the restricted substances incorporated in Annex XVII and how harmful chemicals can be eliminated along the supply chain.
