Deckers product developer gains SAFT qualification

The company's Alice Lin has qualified as a SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist.

Alice Lin joined Deckers Outdoor Corporation in Goleta, California in February 2015 as a textiles and components materials coordinator. Thirteen months later, she became product development coordinator for the Sanuk brand, and in April 2017 she progressed to the role of associate footwear developer at Hoka One One and Sanuk. Alice’s latest promotion came in July 2018, when she was appointed as product developer for Hoka One One.

Alice worked hard to achieve the internationally-renowned SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT) qualification and recently received her certificate from SATRA’s North America business manager James Corton. SAFT training has been specifically designed for all technologists, with modules covering the key areas of footwear production.

The next opportunity for delegates in the USA to learn on the SAFT course is between October 3rd and 18th 2019. These sessions will be held in Costa Mesa, California.
