Indian export missions travelling the globe
The Indian leather sector is looking to achieve a 10 per cent annual growth in exports.
The Indian Council for Leather Export (CLE) has embarked on a number of international missions with the overall goal of increasing exports of leather, footwear and leathergoods. According to the CLE, the Indian leather sector has the potential to achieve a 10 per cent annual growth in exports by boosting its presence outside its traditional markets of Europe and the USA.
Missions have already been held in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kenya and Uganda, with visits also planned for Australia, Chile, Peru and Russia. Additional events will be held in Germany, Italy and the USA.
