Footwear confederation supports European strategy paper
The new association is promoting 'an ambitious and long-term EU industrial strategy' for European business.
The European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) and 148 other industry bodies across the continent have joined forces to create ‘Industry4Europe’, which has the goal of working towards a fresh long-term strategy for manufacturing within the European Union.
The new organisation has published a strategy paper which is said to feature concrete industrial proposals. Priority areas for attention include enhanced research and innovation, reinforcement of the European single market, strengthened international trade, sustainability, and upgraded skills and training.
According to CEC, all of the partners within Industry4Europe are united in calling for what is referred to as ‘an ambitious and long-term EU industrial strategy’. The new plan recommended by this body has reportedly been designed to help Europe remain a leading, smart, innovative and sustainable hub for manufacturers, while providing quality jobs and benefits for all Europeans and future generations.
