Outdoor lifestyle company Timberland has opened its first ‘purpose-led’ flagship store in Europe – defined as ‘focusing on ensuring that an organisation stands for something it believes in while going beyond profit and positively impacting society’. Located in Carnaby Street, the 2,594 square foot retail space features trees and a living green wall. The store’s design is said to reflect Timberland’s ‘Nature Needs Heroes’ campaign, which has the published goal of ‘inspiring a global greening movement, one small action at a time, while building a better future for the environment and the people who live in it’. The London flagship is one of three new such stores, the others being in New York City and Philadelphia.
“Carnaby Street is an iconic retail experience in London,” said Argu Secilmis, the company’s vice president of global marketing. “This is where nature and fashion come together to create something fresh and bold in the marketplace. We are excited to engage with our community, immerse them in our brand experience, and build a movement together toward a greener future.”
