MICAM ‘X’ to spotlight footwear innovation
Delegates to MICAM can explore ideas for the unknown future of the footwear industry.
A new exhibition section dedicated to sustainability, revolutionary materials, consumer trends and retail will make its debut at the MICAM international footwear show to be held in Milan from 16th to 19th February 2020.
In what the organisers describe as ‘a symbolic and pivotal moment for the industry’, a special area in hall 1 – called ‘MICAM X’ – is said to have been designed to provide a stage for the most innovative and high-tech products and ideas. This new zone is marketed as ‘an engaging and stimulating place for visitors to discover the latest market trends, explore different fashion styles and learn about innovative materials, sustainability and the future of retail’.
A number of presentations, workshops, special installations and other initiatives dedicated to innovation have been developed around the topics of materials, sustainability and retail. There will also be a focal point featuring guest speakers and enterprises from around the world in which delegates can explore possibilities for the unknowns of the future (the ‘X’) and investigate what is termed ‘the increasingly disruptive changes that are altering the rules of the game in the footwear industry’.
According to the event coordinators, the September 2020 MICAM show will feature an even richer and more immersive programme dedicated to the ‘X’ theme.
