Worthen acquires Mexican footwear business
The company has a long history of producing adhesives under its 'UPACO' brand.
USA-based Worthen Industries, a major producer of adhesives, coatings, extruded films and laminated goods under the ‘UPACO’ brand, has acquired international chemical and consumer goods company Henkel’s footwear component product line in Mexico. This agreement includes a portfolio of adhesive technologies, as well as the company’s sales and technical support staff.
According to Eric Worthen, president of Worthen Industries, members of his team are very excited about this acquisition. “It will enhance our wide range of product offerings while continuing to build upon the relationships that Henkel has been able to establish over the years,” he said. “The footwear industry is a core component of our company, and we look forward to a smooth transition with our new customers, as well as informing them of our existing product solutions.”
A family-owned and operated company, Worthen Industries has been manufacturing solutions for industry since 1866. The company has operations in five US locations, and supplies its range of products to manufacturers around the world.
