Footwear upper flex testing

Describing valuable test methods used to assess the durability of footwear upper materials and surface finishes

Every time a step is taken, the shoe upper is flexed – possibly many thousands of times each day. Therefore, it is important that the selected upper material and its surface finish or coating will not break down as a result of flexing under conditions encountered during wear, including wet and cold environments.
